So far, All-Star Brawl has been overall well received by the fighting game community. Being knocked off the backside of the bus is almost a guaranteed death sentence as the bus travels much faster than any character can run. This is where speedy All-Star Brawl fighters like Invader Zim tend to excel. If players are knocked to the street surface below, they are given a brief opportunity to attempt a recovery by reaching the closest available vehicle. It's spacious enough for a four-player brawl yet it's not too large, and the aforementioned hazards make playing passively an impossible task. Powdered Toast Trouble, from the classic cartoon series Ren and Stimpy, currently offers the best multiplayer experience in All-Star Brawl. The best multiplayer stages in All-Star Brawl make creative use of stage hazards, space, and verticality. While the game does not feature any items (unlike Smash Bros.), All-Star Brawl does include stage hazards, an essential component to creating just the right amount of chaos in multiplayer battles. Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl's fighting mechanics are deep and rewarding, which has ensured its success following its launch. Providing a variety of unique stages, each with its own feel and required playstyle, is key when it comes to keeping players engaged match after match especially in a repetitive fighting game like All-Star Brawl. Both games also allow players to battle at instantly recognizable locations from various franchises, something that fans of Smash have always greatly appreciated. Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl borrows heavily from the Super Smash Bros.
